WHY YOU NEED COMMUNITY IF YOU ARE A FREELANCE BUSINESS OWNER

I can honestly tell you that starting a business is not at all a cake walk, especially when it's just you ALL.DAY.LONG. I wish I could tell you that I found immediate success, but that's not my journey and I'm okay with that. For far too long there was a lack of like-minded entrepreneurs and mentorship in my life. I was a one woman show just telling myself to 'try harder', but the truth is: "If you don't have the tools or knowledge to begin with, trying harder just won't cut it. You NEED that from others!" And let's be honest, going at it alone is much too lonely. This past year, I changed that and I can't even begin to explain to you how that has shifted EVERYTHING for me! About a month ago a wonderful opportunity fell into my lap that lit a fire underneath me and got me excited about my business again. A church friend of mine, who is an incredible business woman, reached out to see if I'd be interested in joining a mastermind she would be coaching. A mastermind is a group of business owners navigating through challenges using the collective intelligence of others. You meet once a month to tackle challenges and problems together. We haven't even officially started yet, but two days ago was introduction day and vision planning for the whole year of 2017. We had wine, met in the most DREAMY space straight of a magazine that honestly anyone could feel inspired in, shared our passions, networked, and just existed together as fellow women business owners. I left on a major creative high that made it quite hard for me to sleep, thinking and smiling about how creative, motivated, capable, and loved I felt just from one night of being surrounded by other like-minded women. I can't imagine what a whole year of that is going to do for me!    So why do YOU need a like-minded community? It's simple.   Because you deserve to succeed! You deserve to feel supported, motivated, inspired! My new business mentor told me the other night,     "You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with."     Who are your 5 people? If the answer is, I don't have even 1 or 2, then what are you waiting for?? Go and put yourself out there! Surround yourself with business owners just like you. Get a little uncomfortable to find yourself that tribe of like-minded creatives to get vulnerable with who will believe in you and your business and give you ideas outside of your own to push you to places you couldn't have gotten to on your own. Regularly meet with them. Share ideas. Challenge each other. Brainstorm!   If you're stuck on where to find community like this, here are a few ideas to get you going: - Rising Tide Society (Tuesdays Together) -Podcasts (The Goal Diggers Podcast is my current favorite.) -Reach out to local creatives through Instagram or Facebook at meet up with them to simple get to know each other. Over the past year I have met so many photographers who have each shared valuable knowledge with me and have now become dear friends of mine. -Jenna Kutcher course has been a game changer for me. Watch out for her next one. When you sign up for it you are also apart of a private Facebook group full of support, resources, and community available to you daily.    Lastly, do not hesitate to connect with me with any questions or advice of any kind.   Love you all!
