This week has flown by! Yet again. I was planning on blogging the other day, but time just got away from me. Anyone else out there that can relate to the struggle of finding time for well, anything when you're a stay at home mom? It's definitely a skill I am slowly learning.
So here we are, almost to Monday again and back to another week of 'Love on the mamas'. I love these days! By the way, knowing that tomorrow I wouldn't have had much free time until later to type up a blog post for all of you, I am doing it tonight (Sunday night) despite the long day I have had. I am literally typing this with my eyes closed right now (not exaggerating). That is how tired (and talented? haha) I am friends. And that is what running a business while also staying home full time with your kids (or in my case, one child) looks like, ha! For real. Thank goodness I am my own boss. I'm pretty sure working while lounging on the couch in sweats and a slouchy sweater with my eyes closed probably wouldn't cut it in the corporate world.
So to keep things going smoothly, let's just get to it. This week, it only seemed fitting to highlight my dear friend Crystal because of how she went above and beyond for me this past week. Look at how she is admiring her boys in that photo and how stinkin' beautiful she is!
Just a couple days ago she just happened to be in the cities and stopped by my place to drop off a gift she had got for me, completely spontaneous. And well, if you know anything about me, I am all about spontaneity, surprises, and gifts. I was just blown away by her generosity. How can someone seriously be so kind? This woman had already driven over an hour to photograph Natalie and me about a month ago now, on top of that photographed us using film that she bought, and then paid to develop that film. I honestly didn't expect any sort of gift like the one she got for me. I mean, she had already poured so much of herself into everything else that that was plenty a gift to me. If that right there doesn't tell you anything about the kind of woman that Crystal is, than I don't know what else would.
Do you have any friends in your life like this? I find that when you hear about an act of kindness or when someone in your life just simply loves you well, it inspires you to want to do this for others as well. These past couple years have been big years for me. All consuming in many different ways to where pouring into others just wasn't something I could do. If this is you right now, it's okay! Sometimes we just don't have much to give others. Crystal's simple thoughtfulness and generosity made me realize that I am finally in a season where I do have time and the energy to give to others and that I am going to do my best to be thinking of ways I can do simple things to bless those around me whether it be words, little gifts, time, etc. So, THANK YOU Crystal!
By the way, on top of being an incredible photographer (http://www.crystalsphotographymn.com), Crystal is a true go getter. When she has an idea or passion she just runs with it! I completely admire that about her. And not only is she wondering at producing beautiful imagery, but she is an artist in every other way. She's just an all around wonderful person.
