Just a few hours ago I was talking with my sister who is currently overseas in New Zealand, you know, being young, free, and wild. How amazing does that sound mamas? Ha!
A couple weeks ago she cracked her iPhone to the point of no return and has been phone-less ever since as she waits for a new one to arrive. We were talking about how quickly attached we become to our devices and how much we miss out on because of it. Everything from conversations to experiences and precious moments that are gone in a blink of an eye.
So, before this holiday weekend commences I'd like to give you an open invitation to put your phones down and disconnect for a couple days. That is what I will be doing.
*Be fully PRESENT for those you care about the most. *Wrap someone in a hug. (I read somewhere once that weneed four hugs a day for survival, eight hugs a day for maintenance, and twelve hugs a day for growth.) *Send peace. *Donate food. *Make love! (There are FOUR September birthdays in our family, so there was definitely some love making happening in past years. Maybe we'll make it five. ;P) *Be the light.
If you only give one gift this season, make it the gift of time and your full attention. These are moments you will never get back, so make the best of them! Have a beautiful weekend everyone.
